About the Visual Arts Program

Taller Puertorriqueño in its evolution from a community based graphics workshop has been showcasing Puerto Rican and Latino artists in its Lorenzo Homar Gallery from the local community, from Puerto Rico, and nationally. It also promotes the work of Latino artists through collaborations, and satellite exhibitions.

Each year, the Visual Arts Program presents an exhbition cycle that is constructed around a theme or  thematic style.  The artists who exhibit in our program are selected by relevance to the theme, and in consultation with our art advisory committee, a choice group of artists, curators, and members of the community. These cycles are often planned two years in advance. Although we do not often build exhibitions on submitted work, we encourage artists to inform us on the work they are doing.

The artists is this current cycle can be found here.
